Scope 1: The direct CO2 emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels generated by the pulp and paper manufacturing at the Nymolla mill are captured and used for the production of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) filler. The emissions reported for scope 1 are generated by the internal transportation.
Scope 2: Since 2008, the electricity purchased externally has been from low-emission sources, specifically nuclear power, with CO2 emissions of 0.0014 kg per tonne of paper.
The reduction of the carbon footprint for Multicopy NEXT will focus on the reduction of Scope 3.
The project restores degraded forest reserves in Ghana with teak, indigenous trees and natural forest in riparian buffer zones, following the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
This project focuses on sustainable wood production, land restoration and carbon sequestration through afforestation.
